Mitsubishi GT16 Series multimedia HMI

The Mitsubishi GT16 series adds a new dimension of visualization and operation to the company’s GOT1000 family of HMIs. The GT16 series combines a host of video and sound capabilities with embedded communications interfaces to provide an unparalleled multimedia platform.

The GT16 series multimedia HMI can transform applications from still images to motion images with a video capture and store feature, a monitor display/RGB input, and a sound output interface. Multimedia functionality contributes to faster resolution of maintenance issues, improves operators’ understanding of the machine or process, and ultimately helps to ensure higher overall throughput. A key feature on these new HMI devices is the real-time video playback and record function, allowing personnel to play GT16 recordings or MPEG4 files from the terminal. These HMI devices can record machine/process events up to 120 seconds before and after a condition being monitored. The GT16 series offers a range of display sizes from 8.4 to 15 inches.

The GT16 series is Mitsubishi Electric’s 4th generation Graphic Operation Terminal (GOT) HMI platform. The GOT series is based on open systems and commercial off-the-shelf technologies. This enables companies to meet increasing demands for high performance, ease of use, and lowest-total-cost automation systems. This platform provides enhance functionality that rivals both traditional PCs as well as competitive HMI platforms.

Additional features of the GT16 series of HMI devices include:

  • Advanced and preventative maintenance functions;
  • Common hardware including CPU and graphics engines;
  • Integrated RS232/422/485 and Ethernet communication ports and power supply;
  • Third party connections;
  • Front mounted USB port and USB host/device;
  • Compact flash slots; and,
  • Built-in 15MB flash memory.

    The platform is compact, offers a high-quality display, upgradeable operating system and a real time clock.
