New Chapter of Water-Cooling

In Sep., 2009, Siemens Factory Automation Engineering Co., ltd. (SFAE) completed test of the first S120 Drive System in water-cooling field. This accomplishment represents a new chapter of independently design and manufacture of water-cooling system has started in Siemens in China.

In the morning of Sep. 11^th, product manager from LD (Large Drive) BU, Siemens Ltd. China, experts of water-cooling system from I&S, Norway came to visit SFAE. The topics on water-cooling system design, produce process and other related issues were discussed during the visit.

Water-cooling S120 Drive System was a core part in Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd (TDC) 85m Hopper Suction Dredger Drive System Project. Before this project, all Siemens water-cooling drive system was manufactured in Germany. This is the first time to complete design and manufacture water-cooling drive system domestically. The success proved SFAE’s competence in this field. As the benefit of this technology breakthrough, the delivery cycle can be shortened and we can also provide better and efficient after service to our customers.

This successful application paved the way for SFAE on designing and developing water-cooling drive system in the future. Meanwhile, it opens the door for SFAE to breakthrough into shipbuilding industry.
