Programmable logic controller smarter than smart relays

programmable logic controller (PLC) which includes a full-function operator panel in addition to on-board inputs and outputs.
According to the company, the Unitronics Jazz PLC enables users to replace the so-called ‘smart relays’ with a smarter and more powerful device. It is suited for control applications in water, agriculture, industrial lighting, automatic barriers and air conditioning.
The Jazz includes 24K (virtual) of Ladder programming, and functions such as math, store/load, compare, interrupt and loops.
It has a full human-machine interface which provides 60 user-designed screens, an alpha-numeric keypad and a multi-lingual display. The screens can display operating instructions, system-fault messages and conditioning data.
The PLC includes a variety of communication options, including SMS messaging, Remote Access utilities and PC access via MODBUS or OPC/DDE servers.
