Technosoft unveils compact ISD720 servo drive
- 0 Comments
Technosoft has introduced the ISD720 servo drive developed for high-power needs and cost-sensitive applications.
Based on the Motionchip DSP technology, ISD720 embeds a motion controller, a drive and PLC functionality in the same open-frame unit, which measures 136mm x 84mm x 26mm.
With compact dimensions and 20A continuous/49.5A peak current ratings, ISD720 combines high-level motion-control functions with a cost-optimised design.
The drive is a flexible solution, particularly adapted for the distributed and coordinated control of brushless, DC or linear motors up to 720W.
It accepts incremental quadrature encoders and digital halls as position feedbacks.
Most of the usual features of all Technosoft motion products are also included.
ISD720 performs position, speed or torque control and works in single-axis, multi-axis or standalone configurations.
The drive setup, tuning and motion programming are said to be simple with Easymotion Studio and the Technosoft Motion Language (TML).
With ISD720, motion programming can be done from a CAN master, via a PC/PLC using the appropriate motion library or directly at drive level through its built-in motion controller.
Using the TML language, multiple operations can be executed, including the setting of various motion modes (profiles, PVT, PT, electronic gearing or camming), the changing of motion modes and/or parameters and the execution of homing sequences or program flow control.
At the same time, IDS720 can handle digital input/output (I/O) and analogue input signals, execute arithmetic and logic operations and transfer data between axes.
The drive is able to control other axes via motion commands.
Moreover, ISD720 can send commands to a group of axes or synchronise all the axes from a network.
A CANopen version of the ISD720, supporting DS-301 and DSP-402 profiles, is also available.
The ISD720 drive is an economical alternative for various motion applications that demand high servo performance control, according to the company.
This drive is suitable for modern motion control applications, particularly for high-precision-control areas, from medical to factory automation, as well as for industrial projects that require high-power control.
